Your character has various stats that affect various things. For example, marksman skill determines how much your gun moves while using the iron sights. The more skill, the steadier your aim becomes. The problem is, before you have a bunch of skill, your rifle shakes like you're having a seizure. It was so bad that it became a game of timing.

You would have to pray that they would miss as they shot at you repeatedly, while you waited for your straying iron sights to pass over the enemy so you could shoot. It was also a very hard game. But however annoying these things were, once you got used to them it became a fun game, and it had very varied missions so it didn't get old. The M16 was the rifleman and grenadier weapon, and it was pretty powerful if you were accurate enough.

It was my favorite gun, yet I haven't gotten to the customizable M4A1 Carbine. This game was very hard, and because there are no checkpoints it was very annoying. The only way you could keep yourself from going back to the beginning every time you died was to save manually. You could do this whenever you wanted, but you could only do it five times per mission. And because you never knew when you would die, you never knew when to save and the only way you could get through a mission the first time was if you were very lucky and very skilled.

Yet despite all of this, it is really freakin' fun! It's got intense action, takes lots of strategy, and teamwork if you played on multiplayer. The M16 was also awesome. It game with an attached M grenade launcher. In this case, burst was a wonderful mode, because it was extremely accurate, and it usually took about two shots to kill. So burst gave you those two shots, and then threw in a third, just to be safe. Well, this wasn't a great game in any sense of the word, at least I don't think so.

It was not much fun in single player, even though it was original. The controls were strange, the difficulty insane, and the tanks to common and tough.

The M16 was pretty pathetic too. The only reason this game is on the list is because it shined really bright in multiplayer. I have rarely played a game that required this much strategy and teamwork, and because of it it was really fun.

But chances are you won't have someone to play with; this isn't like Halo were people actually get together at a decided date and play all night. I think this is pretty strange. It's listed as the specific A2, not the generic M16, yet it fires in full auto like an A3 does. Maybe there's a special version of the rifle for special ops that I just haven't heard of, I dunno.

Anyway, it's not one of the better rifles, and is easily beaten by weapons such as the MP5 and SA There is a silenced variant of the M16, however, that it pretty useful in some situations. While some guns are slightly more effective than this, they don't really vary all that much, so it's actually a pretty good idea to go with this weapon if you so desire.

At least, teen and under. The M16 is one of the best rifles in the game, but it takes a lot to get used to it. One of the best features is that you can put high level zoom scopes on it, such as 12x or even 16x and use is like a sniper. And then when they get too close, you just unzoom, switch to burst, and light 'em up.

Unfortunately it can't be silenced, which is necessary in almost all of the missions in this game, but ah well. It's good in instant action. It also says something about Vietnam, which is the first war the M16 was used in. Anyway, this is the best rifle in the game. While it doesn't have automatic, which is the most popular mode on Xbox LIVE, it is the most accurate, and if you can get good with burst, you can start picking them off pretty quick. Almost anyone familiar with any of the games on this list is probably thinking that if they've played it.
